My
CSA farm box made my jaw drop this week. I'm reluctant to even post about it for fear people in less generous climates will turn away in disgust or drop dead with envy.
Asparagus,
avocados,
beets (no greens attached this time),
carrots,
cherries (I couldn't believe it either, but there they are - a bit small, perhaps, but cherries all the same - in the upper left-hand corner!),
English peas,
green garlic, a
lemon,
spring salad mix,
snap peas,
spring onions,
strawberries,
oranges, and
zucchini and a few pattypan summer squash!

You’re right — we are jealous. Cherries? Cherries! So lucky, you are.
Yep, color me chartreuse with envy. Pattypans are my absolute favorite summer squash!
There were some cherries at my local produce market yesterday, but they were a jaw-dropping $6 a pound, so I passed. I’ll wait until June, when I can pick them in New Jersey for $1 a pound.
I need to move further south! We have probably four weeks to go until, and I can hardly wait for the scapes.
