Think you can ensure good luck in the new year by eating the right meal? Every culture has its own ideas of which foods are lucky. The Creole tradition of Hoppin' John and Braised Cabbage to start the new year has several things going for it. First, the ingredients are cheap, which is a nice break after the expenses of the holidays. Second, the dishes are healthful, which, again, helps mitigate the effects of holiday overindulgence. Third, they are delicious, warming, and satisfying - what could be a better way to start the new year?

And I actually do have 2 questions for you if you usually do not mind.
Is it just me or does it give the impression like a few of the responses look like they are left by
brain dead folks? :-P And, if you are posting on other online sites, I’d like to follow anything new you have to post. Could you make a list of the complete urls of all your community sites like your twitter feed, Facebook page or linkedin profile?
