State of the Week: Connecticut

By February 15, 2013

Follow me on:

Connecticut, like much of the Northeast, has really taken a beating lately. First Sandy, then the huge storm last weekend with all its feet of snow. Perhaps an odd time to take a glance at its local foods, but, as has been noted here before, the simple plan of alphabetical order is a strict disciplinarian (as someone with a last name that starts with "W" I can assure you I have felt the wrath of alphabetical order more than once in my day).

Like so many places around the country, Connecticut has fewer farms than it used to, but it also has a growing local foods movement and organic farming culture. Find sources for locally grown and produced foods in the Nutmeg state with this Guide to Connecticut Local Foods. Know about something missing from the guide? Tell us about it here!
