Waimea Town Farmers Market

Like most farmers markets in Hawaii, the Waimea Town Farmers Market has coffee stand. Unlike markets on the Mainland, the Downes Grounds stand sells Kona coffee they grow and roast on the Big Island of Hawaii. Medium and dark roast are on offer, as well as "peaberry" coffee. Coffee bean usually grow in pairs, but there are always some that grow alone, known as peaberries. Most coffee growers just combine them into the general mix, but some smaller growers take the time to separate out these more intensely flavored coffee beans as a specialty product.
