Floating a few slices of cucumber in some chilled sake (add ice, if you like) make a remarkably refreshing cocktail. I like to sip mine while staring at an ocean, or at least a gulf, while wearing a sundress after having rinsed the salt water from my hair.

Note, the amounts below are for a single cocktail. Do not feel thus constricted, however. Make as many as you and yours would like!

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Total Time: 5 minutes

Yield: 1 cocktail

Ingredients:

  • 6 slices cucumber
  • 4 oz. chilled sake
  • About 7 ice cubes

Preparation:

Put 3 of the cucumber slices, the sake, and 4 of the ice cubes in a cocktail shaker. Shake vigorously for about 30 seconds. Strain into a cocktail glass to serve up and over a glass of ice if that's what you prefer. Float remaining cucumber slices in the drink. Serve immediately.
