Gin and tonics are one of my favorite summer cocktails. Whenever I find myself with limes at hand, it's quite likely G&Ts will be on offer soon. The instructions below are for one cocktail, but feel free to increase the amounts to fit the number of people on your deck.

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Total Time: 5 minutes

Yield: 1 Gin and Tonic Cocktail

  • 2 Tbsp. gin
  • 1 tsp. lime juice
  • 6 to 8 oz. tonic water (or part tonic and part soda for those who want a lighter-in-calories and tonic taste)
  • Lime wedge for garnish

Fill a highball glass with ice. Pour gin and lime juice over the ice. Let it sit for 30 seconds. Fill the glass with tonic (or tonic and soda). Add a lime wedge. Serve immediately.
