Georgia's mild winter and long, slow growing season means many fruits and vegetables are available for much longer stretches than in other parts of the country. Georgia Peaches

Georgia peaches are famous - both the literal ones that grow on trees and the figurative ones also known as "Southern Belles"! We'll concern ourselves with the fruit here. Over 40 varieties of peaches are grown throughout Georgia, but the commercial crop is concentrated in the central region.
Look for an even background color of golden yellow for yellow peaches, and creamy yellow for white flesh peaches. Note that the red blush characteristic of some peaches does not indicate ripeness. Learn how to Choose, Store & Use Peaches.
Georgia Pastured & Grass-Fed Meats

- Nature's Harmony Farm meat CSA has limited memberships and often requires a wait, but their heritage turkeys and grass-fed beef are also available for sale at the farm and through buying clubs.
- White Oak Pastures raises grass-fed beef and sells it through Publix markets.
- Carlton Farms sells grass-fed beef, pastured poultry and pork, as well as organic vegetables. Order online or join their CSA.
