Guide to Great Food In and Around The District

By , About.com Guide

No, it's not a state, but I have great affection for the foods of the District, as the locals call it, and sympathy for its state-less population. They deserve a "state" guide, too, even if they don't have proper representation in Congress.

Luckily for its residents, Washington is close to the Chesapeake Bay and its famous blue crabs. You can buy crabs and boil them yourself, pick the meat, and serve with melted butter. Any extra picked crab meat can be used to make crab cakes.

Or have someone else do all the work and check out one of the city's many Crab Restaurants.
