This guide to homemade ice cream is more than a recipe (although you'll find a basic ice cream recipe on the next page), it is designed to spell out the steps of making homemade ice cream and show you how to add flavor at different points so you can create your own dream ice cream flavor — from Tahitian vanilla or triple chocolate to ginger-blueberry or espresso-lemon (that last one doesn't sound good to me, but we each need to follow our own dream!) at home.
Read through this guide to see the different flavors and flavoring methods that are possible. Choose a combination and then get started.
Note that there are several points at which you can add flavor to ice cream - infuse it at the beginning, stir in flavors after the base is made, add items after it's mostly frozen, or add toppings. You can intensify a single flavor by adding it at different points, or combine flavors as you like.
