These are some seriously delicious honeys - taste the difference between mass-marketed honey and small-batch spun honey from one of these honey producers. There are more great honeys out there - let me know at localfoods.guide@about.com.
Big Island Bees
This raw, organic honey from the Big Island of Hawaii comes in O'hia Lelua Blossom (a thick but light and very floral honey), Wilelaiki (orange colored and slightly spicy), or Macadamia Nut Blossom (dark and rich honey I could drink all day).Katz Branches Honey
Katz primarily producers high-quality olive oils (their oil is used at Chez Panisse). Through their Branches Honey brand, they also bottle and sell some amazingly delicious raw honey in a range of "flavors" – wild blackberry, black button sage, raspberry flower, citrus blossom, and range wildflower.
