Fresh Basil Vinaigrette

Fresh basil and a bit of garlic are whirled into a simple fresh basil vinaigrette in this easy recipe. It's perfect on tomatoes, summer salad greens, or grilled meats.

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Total Time: 10 minutes


  • 2 cups basil leaves (about 1 large bunch)
  • 1/2 cup good-quality olive oil
  • 1/4 cup white wine or champagne vinegar
  • 1 small clove garlic
  • Sea salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste


In a blender or food processor, whirl the basil, oil, vinegar, and garlic until smooth. Add salt and pepper to taste.

Makes about 1 cup Fresh Basil Vinaigrette.

I attempted this after trying a Basil Vinaigrette dressing at a raw vegan restaurant in Columbia SC... this was great! I added 5 garlic cloves instead of 1 and I still feel like it could have had a bit more.. A must try! put on a salad or over tomato and mozzarella slices
