11. Homemade Pickles

Homemade pickles add a tart, sour, refreshing bite to the heavy fare most of us down while we watch the Superbowl. Pickled Green Beans, Spicy Pickled Garlic, Pickled Okra, and Zucchini Pickles are all crowd pleasers (especially alongside Spicy Ribs).

12. Homemade Salsa

Salsa is a Superbowl stand-by. It is also insanely easy to make yourself. My favorites include Salsa Fresca, Chile Onion Salsa, and Tomatillo Salsa.

13. Homemade Sweet Potato Chips

Thinly sliced sweet potatoes fried until crisp are a bright and fun take on "potato chips." A bit sweet, and very orange, their flavor is perfected with just a sprinkle of salt - or chili powder for those who like things spicy.

14. Spicy Candied Pumpkin Seeds

These pumpkins seeds are spicy and sweet - and extremely snack-able.

15. Spicy Seeded Peanuts

These easy Spicy Peanuts have extra crunch from mustard seeds and cumin seeds.

16. Sweet Potato Fries – Baked

With a bit of attention to cutting the sweet potatoes evenly, they bake up in the oven with a crispy brown exterior and fluffy sweet interior – making a perfect low-fat addition to your Superbowl spread.

17. Sweet Potato Fries

French fries made with sweet potatoes are golden, tender, and, yes, sweet. Kick them into gear with a sprinkle of cayenne or chili powder. Oh, and they go with beer like cookies go with milk.
