Strawberry Almond Smoothie

This refreshing blend of strawberries, yogurt, and almond milk gets a zesty lift from orange juice. It’s easy to make and perfect for breakfast on the go or an afternoon pick me up. Almond milk and almonds add a nutty flavor, thicker texture, and a protein boost.

Freezing the strawberries thickens the smoothie. If you like a thinner smoothie or want to speed up the prep time, simply skip step 1.

Note: You can use previously frozen berries, just make sure they are IQF (individually quick frozen) and unsweetened.

Prep Time: 35 minutes
Cook Time: 00 minute
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup strawberries
  • 2 cups vanilla-flavored almond milk
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 2 Tbsp. blanched slivered or sliced almonds
Preparation:
  1. Gently wash and hull strawberries.
  2. Place strawberries in a single layer on a sheet pan and freeze for at least 30 minutes and up to overnight.
  3. Combine all ingredients in a blender and whirl until frothy and smooth. Pour into glasses and serve.

Makes 4 servings (1 cup each)
